Kay Y. King age 72, of Byron, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, February 10, 2018. She was born May 10, 1945 the daughter of Richard and Annabelle (Percell) Yetter. While she lived with the debilitating effects of Rheumatoid Arthritis for most of her adult life, Kay courageously maintained a hopeful and positive attitude, even though pain was her constant companion

Kay’s working career included the Trust Department at Illinois National Bank, secretary at the United Church of Byron (where she was also a member), legal secretary for Moehle, Smith, Neiman, Hanson and Hahn, and secretary to Rick Hahn in Byron. She also worked with her husband, Denny, at the Indian Village, the restaurant they owned with his parents for 33 years. She wore many hats there including waitress, hostess and greeter to the many people who enjoyed coming to eat. Kay loved flowers and enjoyed time spent in her yard. Even when she could no longer get down on her hands and knees to garden, she enjoyed flowers and plants in pots around her home and patio, where she spent many happy hours in the summer. She loved nothing more than cheering on her grandkids in all of their sports and activities, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family across the country.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard M. & Annabelle Yetter, & brother, Patrick Yetter. Survived by husband, Dennis King, son, Jason King, grandchildren, Hunter & Haylee King; son, Jared King (Kristin), grandchildren, Owen & Henry King. Kay also leaves behind two sisters, Carol Hettinger (Tom) of Arizona and Nancy Gill (Dennis) of Wisconsin. Cousin Shelia Barton, Nieces, Bonnie Hettinger Pond (Jay), Wendy Swanson & Kelly Quast, and Rebeccah King. Nephew, Brian Hettinger and Jon King. Also leaves behind 9 great-nieces & nephews (Kristin, Rebecca & Robby Pond, Eric Swanson, Zachary, Owen & Brooke Quast, Angelika and Alex King).
