We extend our sympathy to all of you on the loss of Gene.  He was quite a guy!  Always fun to be around with a good story or two.  Lots of memories from years ago will live on in our hearts and minds.  May God hold you in his loving arms as you go through this time of grief.  Jack and Val

Such a shock to hear about Gene. Such a fantastic man. He recently found and brought me a historical article about my church. He was a kind man and loving. My condolences and prayers to Rita, Justin and family.

Gene (Papa Gene) held such a special place in our hearts and we will miss him dearly.  We will treasure our times at the lake, family vacations, and all the laughs and stories we shared.  May you find comfort during this difficult time.

    Rita and Family,

Gene will be missed by all who knew him. How lucky were the young folks who passed through his class room door.

Gene played on my Flag Football team in Jr. High. Such a great person.... an Honor to have him as my friend....... the days he (you ) would come down to the Oregon Depot to share his rich recollections of Oregon area history and to share his picture collection.

I truly loved this bigger than life fellow!

Gene and I sat together in the OCHS band's baritone section during my freshman year which was Gene's senior year. No one knew but he was quite a mentor to me that year in many areas and I have not forgotten his patience with me (musically - I wasn't very good!). Gene will be greatly missed.

I was sad to receive the news about Gene's passing and would like to express my most sincere sympathy to Rita and the rest of the family.  As a lifelong friend of older brother Beno I remember Gene as a baby and growing up through the years becoming a fine young man.  I'm sure you'll have a wonderful celebration of his life and I wish you all the best.

    Dear Rita, Justin and family,

My deepest sympathies to your family.  Without a doubt, Gene loved his family above all things and would have that sparkle in his eyes when he spoke of all of you.  He will be missed by so many.  While the heavens have gained an awesome angel, I'm a bit concerned that he and Kathy Harper are together once again.  Those two didn't need a lot of help getting the laughter and maybe a bit of trouble going with that memorable fifth grade Mary Morgan team!  Rita and family, may your sadness soon be replaced with wonderful memories.  RIP Gene.
