My prayers to Barb and family. I worked for Jerry at the Sheriff's office for several years. He was a great Sheriff and wasn't afraid of anyone. Jerry was also a great guy and a good friend. I will miss him very much. Condolences to Jerry's family.

This man changed my life! He believed in me when no one did. Having no father in my life, he was my father figure. He taught me to respect myself and to be more and to give more. I am honored to have known him. God speed Sheriff Jerry Brooks.

Farewell Mr. Brooks! Growing up in Oregon, IL, as a young girl, Jerry was like a second Dad. He was someone who had a kind smile and he made me feel safe and sound. I rode the bus with his kids and his son, Brian, was in my class (1983). He always seemed to be helping people, even hosting them in his home if needed (Crowley Family). Although my family moved away from Oregon in 1978, I remember Mr. Brooks very clearly and very fondly. His life was one well spent and it is now a treasured memory for me forever. May the Lord Bless and Keep family and friends with beautiful memories and May the Lord Always Shine His Face Upon You Always!

In Celebration of Jerry's Life and Condolences for Family and Friends,

    Marina Zuniga Wirsing & Family

Barb, Dave, and to all the Brooks family,

I have a career today thanks to Sheriff Brooks who hired me as a dispatcher back in 1977. He held the bar high, but I learned so much from him, and that prepared me for a life long career.

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

    Steve & Mother, Sisters, Brothers

So very sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. What an impact he had on the community, his friends, & family. Over 50 years of service giving back to the community, that is true commitment. I am sure, however, what he is most proud of is his family and knowing he will live on in the legacy he leaves behind. As a man of faith, he also had the assurance you will be together again someday

Thank you for being partners in all his service. I know you don't achieve this much success with help from the family.

    With sympathy & appreciation

    Dave Syverson

Barb and family:  My deepest sympathies for the loss of you husband, father, father in law, grandchildren, brother and most of all deeply respected sheriff.  He knew so many people personally and even though you may not have agreed with him always he still knew you and would always say hello.   Hold your memories close and I will remember you in my prayers.
