Agnes L. Elliott, 71, of Stillman Valley went home to God Sunday Sept. 28, 2014 at Swedish-American Hospital, Rockford. She was born March 3, 1943 in Rochelle, IL the daughter of Arthur and Minerville (Oleson) Larson. She married Charles Elliott on May 29, 1963. Agnes lived a loving, Christian faith and was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, Paynes Point. Making quilts with the Quiet Quilting Ladies of Paynes Point was one of her favorite things…Blessed are the quilters for they are the piecemakers. An avid reader, belonging to Julia Hull Library book club of Stillman Valley, Agnes kept a record of most of the books she read and recorded personal comments about each book. She also enjoyed flower gardening, cooking, and crafts. She volunteered at Prairie View’s Jarrett Center, helping with many projects over the years. Agnes worked over 20 years outside the home as a clerk and bookkeeper, retiring in 1999 from Pacemaker Grocers in Belvidere. Her family was the center of her life and survivors include her husband, Charles; daughter, Michelle (Steve) Bearrows; sons, Michael (Lisa) Elliott and Mark (Tonya) Elliott; grandchildren, Brandon and Kylee Elliott, Andrea Brinkmeyer, Danyel Brinkmeyer, Tim Brinkmeyer, & Brianna Elliott; and great grandson, Schyler Brinkmeyer; brother, Bob Larson; sister, Donna Kayer; and many, many cousins, friends and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Genene Garner and son-in-law, Tim Brinkmeyer. Agnes possessed a personality of love and understanding with a smile that would light up the room and she will be lovingly remembered and sorely missed.
