Charles W. Hitchcock, 82, lifelong resident of Oregon, died Saturday, May 5, 2018 at his home. Born January 10, 1936 in Oregon, the son of William and Juanita (Personette) Hitchcock. Married to Bernice Himes November 13, 1954 in Byron: she died January 7, 2015 Chuck had been employed at Rockford Drop Forge and Kable Printing before retiring and was a long time crossing guard for Oregon schools. He was a member of East Oregon Church of God and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, cook outs and fishing. Survived by son, Charles A. Hitchcock of Oregon, Allen (Linda) Hitchcock of Janesville, Wis., and Jim Hitchcock of Oregon; daughters, Rose (Royal) Ferge, Bernice (Dan) Jenkins and Nancy Sigler, all of Oregon; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and brothers, Jerry (Joan) Hitchcock and Daniel (Judy) Hitchcock, both of Oregon. Also preceded in death by: grandson, Shannon Sigler; brothers, Bob and Jack; and sisters, Dolores and Karen.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Wednesday, May 9 in East Oregon Church of God with Pastor John Guthrie officiating. Burial in Daysville Cemetery, rural Oregon. Visitation Tuesday 5:00 - 7:00pm in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. Memorials may be directed to the family.
