Byron – Eileen R. “Cricket” Lusardi, age 83 died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014 at Alden Debes Rehabilitation Center in Rockford. She was born Dec. 14, 1930 in Chester, IL the daughter of Elmer and Mary Luvine (Velroy) Hagan.
She worked many years at Elco Industries in Rockford. Some of her best years where spent with her late husband George Lusardi. She loved to fish, garden, go to garage sales and spent a lot of time helping take care of her 2 grandsons Zack and Max Gross. She was preceded in death by her parents, her 2 husbands; Myron Gross and George Lusardi, daughter Tracy Gross, and an infant daughter, 2 brothers; Herbert and Glen, and 3 sisters; Lucille, Laura, and Luvern. She is survived by her 4 children; Marla (Jerry) Vandiver of Byron, Diane (Chuck) Wekenmann of Machesney Park, David Gross of Rockford, and Richard (Lori) Gross of Cherry Valley, sister Ruth (William) Taylor of Monroe Center, IL and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild on the way. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm, Wed., Oct. 8, 2014 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant St. in Byron with the Rev. Randy Snider pastor of the First Baptist Church of Byron officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, Illinois. A memorial fund is established in her name.
