Stillman Valley – Florence E. Fruin, 94 of Stillman Valley passed away into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Wed., Aug. 27, 2014 at Serenity House in Oregon, IL. She was born June 11, 1920 in rural Stillman Valley the daughter of William and Hilka (Lewis) Maas. She graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1938. On Aug. 14, 1939 at her parent’s home in rural Davis Junction, she married Harold (Pete) L. Fruin of Oregon, IL. She was well-known for her gentle expression of her faith and her dedication to her husband and children. She was a very active member in the Elim Reformed Church of Kings, IL where she served in several offices within the Ladies Aid and taught a preschool Sunday School class for many years. Survivors include Harold, her husband of 75 years; four of her five children, Ronald (Kim) of Indianapolis, Sandra (Nick) Bell of Stillman Valley, Randy (Donna) of Stillman Valley and Susan (Bo) Tasso of Stillman Valley, 19 grandchildren, 17 Great grandchildren, and 11 great great grandchildren, her older brother Paul Maas of Chana, and son-in-law Joseph B. Russian . She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother William Maas, her daughter Betty Russian, her grandson Scott Fruin, and 2 infant great grandchildren. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Sat., Aug. 30, 2014 at the Elim Reformed Church in rural Kings with Rev. Gerald Dykstra officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Friday evening at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Stillman Valley, IL. Burial will be at the White Rock Cemetery. A memorial fund is established for the Serenity Hospice and Home or the American Cancer Society.
