Oregon- Gregory M. Frantz, age 61, of Oregon formerly of Elmhurst died Friday, July 8, 2016 at the University of Wisconsin Madison Hospital. He was born Aug. 5, 1954 in Elmhurst, Illinois the son of Rollin J. and Margaret E. (Duff) Frantz. He graduated from York High School in Elmhurst class of 1973 and then attended the University of Illinois in Champaign Urbana. Greg married Elizabeth “Betty” Gleiter on Dec. 29, 1988 in Walworth, County, WI. She preceded him on Jan. 11, 2015. Greg worked 37 years as a Nuclear Reactor operator at the Exelon Station in Byron, IL. retiring in Jan. of 2015. He was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oregon where he taught Sunday School and served on the church board. Greg loved to cook, create with Lego building blocks, and ride his bicycle with the various bike clubs he belonged to. He served on the parent board of the Northern Illinois Academy in North Aurora. A big part of his legacy is his involvement with his 2 sons which he and Betty adopted from Brazil. He was predeceased by his parents and wife Betty. He is survived by his 2 sons; Ederaldo “Edge” Frantz of North Aurora and Steven C. Frantz of Oregon, 3 brothers; Jeff Frantz of Elmhurst, Mark (Alice) Frantz of Western Springs, IL, and Tim (Annette) Frantz of Lawrenceville, Georgia, mother-in-law Frances Meyers of Calumet City, father-in-law Joseph (Noreen) Gleiter of Orland Park, Brazilian daughter Bruna and her children Duda and Enzo. Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oregon with the Rev. Rich Tomlinson pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Daysville Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street Oregon, IL.
