James A. Brubaker - 72

Oregon – James Allen Brubaker, age 72, died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon surrounded by his loving family. He was born Feb. 11, 1943 in Chicago the son of Kenneth and Dorothy (Pavlik) Brubaker. He graduated from Lane Tech High School in Chicago. He married Sandra Wodrich on Feb. 8, 1964 in Chicago. James was a Franklin Park Firefighter for 26 years retiring in 1993. In 1999 he and his wife Sandra moved to the Oregon area. Together they enjoyed vacationing in Fort Myers Beach Florida for the past 25 years. He was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL. He was also a member of the Blackhawk Model Railroad Club at Conover Square in Oregon. He loved to fish and fly his model airplanes. He was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Sandra of Oregon, children; Judy (Don) Geno of Buffalo Grove, IL, Bill (Kathleen) Brubaker of Sandwich, IL, and Dan (Charlotte) Brubaker of Wauconda, IL, brother Norm (Maryann) Brubaker of Ruskin, Florida, 8 grandchildren, Jason Geno, Timothy, Julie, Brianne, Brian, and Katie Brubaker, Christian and Haley Brubaker, many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, Mar. 9, 2015 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th Street in Oregon, IL 61061 with the Pastor David Burge of the Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home. A memorial fund is established for the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon or the Messiah Lutheran Church in Sterling, IL.
