Oregon, IL

Kathryn M. Tremble Laskos, 94, of Oregon passed away Thursday April 5, 2018 in Serenity Hospice Home, Oregon.  She was born June 18, 1923 in Osage, IA, the daughter of William O. and Adeline R. (McGrane) Markham. Graduated from Osage High School and later relocated to work for a dentist in Waukegan, IL. While there, she also volunteered at the Great Lakes Naval Base to do her part for the war effort. It was there that she met Lester A. “Bud” Tremble. After he returned from overseas, they were married in October of 1946 in Osage, IA. They made their home in Oregon, IL and, along with caring for her family and assisting Bud at the Farrell Funeral Home, Kay was active with St. Mary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Oregon Golf Club, and local bridge clubs. Bud died in 1963 and in 1973, she married Frank E. Laskos and moved to Hoffman Estates, IL. In their retirement years, they enjoyed wintering in New Smyrna Beach, FL where they were the “social directors” of the complex. Parties, poolside gatherings, walks on the beach, and shuffleboard tournaments were just part of the daily activities at Chateau By The Sea. They enjoyed many years as “snowbirds”, but for the past 10 years have been in Oregon. Frank died in 2012. Kay really loved nature, especially feeding and watching the birds. She also liked planting and taking care of her flowers. Kay’s family was the most important part of her life and she will be missed. Quoting Kay, "The best time to leave the party is when everyone is begging you to stay".

Survivors include her children, Mary (Bill) Davis of Oregon, Mark (Kathi) Tremble of Oregon, and Paula (Bob) Harley of Elmhurst, IL; grandchildren, Dana (Thomas) Ingram, Leanne (Paul) Barton, Beth (Will) Witzeman, Becca (Matt) Puett, Katie (Tim Lauersdorf) Tremble, Farrell (Matt) Cain, Jenny (J.K.)
