Richard F. Lee, 75, longtime Oregon area resident, died Friday November 28, 2014 in his home. Born November 5, 1939 in La Crosse, WI, the son of Francis and Emily (Chiappe) Lee. Married to Mary Wilkinson September 5, 1959 in Galena. Richard was a 1957 graduate of Aquinas High School in La Crosse and was employed as a railroad agent for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 44 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon where he was active in the choir and a member and Past Grand Knight of Oregon Knights of Columbus Council 1092. Richard was a generous donor to various charities, enjoyed fishing, horse races and the Green Bay Packers. Survived by his wife Mary of Oregon; sons, Robert (Kimberley) Lee of Kansas City, Mo, Richard Lee, Jr. of Spartanburg, SC and Thomas (Kathy) Lee of Mt. Morris; daughter, Christine (Jack) McKenzie of Mt. Morris; grandchildren, Justin Lee of Mesa AZ, Joshua (Angelica) Lee of Mt. Morris, Heather Lee of Schaumburg, Jacob Lee of Mt. Morris, Thomas Lee of Mt. Morris, Ryan Lee of Forreston, and Brandon Lee and Brianna Lee, both of Spartanburg, SC; brother, James (Billie) Lee of Green Bay, WI; and sister, Betty Dyer of Winneconne, WI. Predeceased by his parents.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am Tuesday December 2 in St. Mary Catholic Church, Oregon with Rev. Joseph Naill, celebrant. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Oregon. Visitation Monday 5:00 – 7:00pm in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon with a 7:00pm Vigil Prayer Service. A memorial fund has been established. Family wishes to give special thanks to OSF Hospice and Visiting Angels for their care and compassion.
