Vicki Bowen

Vicki Marlene Bowen, 74, of Forreston, IL passed away at home peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 26, 2022.
She was born on December 4, 1947 in Toledo, IL. Vicki was the daughter of Oscar Morgan and Ruby Ingram. She fell in love and married Richard Bowen Sr. on December 5, 1964 in Bement, IL.
Vicki was known for her love of Goodwill and thrift shopping, collecting dolls and patriotic items, making and decorating cakes and her infamous cooking.
Vicki was the matriarch, the Queen of the family. She was strong like a Viking, supportive and loving. Whether biological or not, family was her life. Caring for children was her passion through babysitting, being a mom and grandma or giving a kid in need a temporary home.
She was a loving mother to five children: Pamela (Bob) Alberts, Ladonna (Kenneth) Purden, Shauna (Eric) Andersen, Richard (Billie Jo) Bowen Jr and Jason (Molly) Bowen. Vicki also was grandma to 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loyal adoring husband Richard Bowen Sr. and grandson Patrick Purden.
Per Vicki‘s wishes no service is planned. Memorial donations can be mailed to 108 S. 2nd Ave. Forreston, IL 61030, to benefit the family and Serenity Hospice. Special thanks to healthcare providers: FHN’s Dr. Kahn, Swede’s PCU RN’s Daniel and Nichole, as well as CNA Amber and RN Val from Serenity Hospice. The family would like to express their gratitude to Sylvia Baker RN for her attentiveness and the care she provided to Vicki and the family on the 26th. As well as Karen Miller who was a comfort to Vicki as her phone pal and for being there for the family the day of. Vicki and the family also extend thankfulness to daughter in laws Jessica Bowen and Molly Bowen who were there to provide love, care and comfort for Vicki at home over the past few months.

Vicki loved us to the moon and back.
