A.G. Kimbler, age 75, was called from this world on Friday, August 18 after a courageous and long battle with heart disease and kidney failure. He was born on May 13, 1948 in Columbia, Kentucky, son of A.G. and Dorothy Elina Kimbler. He married E. Joan Kimbler on January 17, 1970 while he was in military service in Australia. He graduated from Rock Falls High School and Air Force Special Technicians. A.G. was diversified in personality where he enjoyed travelling, cars, camping, fishing, bowling and cooking new dishes as hobbies throughout his life. A.G. was employed by Commonwealth Edison - Byron Station as a shift engineer retiring in 2000. His hobbies have ranged from street rods, fishing, and his Harley Davidson. He supported his children's activities when they were in high school and was an avid Stillman Valley Cardinals fan. A.G. and Joan spent many years enjoying retirement in the RV, travelling the country during the winter months making many new friends in Arizona and participating in the SASS sport. He is survived by his son, Peter (Megan) Kimbler of Grantsville, UT and daughter Julie (Peter) Hewitt of Dickeyville, WI; granddaughters: Addison Kimbler and Gabrielle Hewitt; and grandson, Aiden Kimbler; sisters: Dorothy Kimbler, Dothan, AL; Florence (Dennis) Grove, Cullman, AL; Bessie (Rick) Murphy, Ozark, AL; Jenny (Don) Miatke, Ozark, AL; brother-in-law, Dan (Michele) Carlson, Shark Bay, WA (Yarwun, QLD), Australia; aunts Jenny Burkett, Somerset, KY and Pattie Loy, Rock Falls, IL; nieces in Australia; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins in the U.S. He was predeceased by his wife, Joan; parents A.G., Sr and Dorothy Kimbler; in-laws, Frank and Doreen Carlson; and nephew Matthew Miatke. Funeral service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley, IL. A visitation will be 1 hour prior to the funeral from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Burial will be at the Stillman Valley Cemetery. A memorial fund is established for the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Illinois.
