Alice M. Nance

Alice M. Nance, age 95, died Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Generations at Neighbor’s in Byron, IL. She was born August 30, 1927 in Taylor Springs, Illinois the daughter of Frank and Marie (Gruber) Panscik. Alice was a devout catholic and graduated from Sterling Newman High School in 1945. Alice married Harold W. Nance on May 22, 1948 in Sterling, IL. They were married for over 71 years. Alice enjoyed travelling. In her spare time; she could be found knitting, reading, or listening to music. She had a giving personality and believed in supporting charities. She devoted her life to taking care of her family. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. Her biggest joys in life were her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Harold, daughter Dawn Nance, brother Albert Panscik, and sister Betty Johnson. She is survived by her 2 sons Michael (Julie) Nance of Rockton, IL, and Steven (Cheryl) Nance of La Salle, IL, 4 grandchildren; Michelle (Victor) Hughes of Rockford, Niki (Dustin) Kimball of Bettendorf, IA, Matt Nance of Peru, IL, and Joshua (Kelly) Nance of Toluca, IL, 8 great grandchildren; Faith, Victor, II, Justice A., Madelynn, Brayden, Ella, Addy, Oliver and June, and several nieces and nephews.  A private graveside service will be held in memory of Harold, Alice, and Dawn Nance will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Oregon. Memorials are established in her name.
