Arnita "Arnee" Violet Somerville

***PLEASE NOTICE NEW CELEBRATION OF LIFE INFORMATION***          

 Arnita (Arnee) Elliott Somerville was born September 18, 1940 at DeSoto, WI. She was one of ten children born to George and Violet Crosby Elliott. In 1956 she married Marvin Somerville. They had three children, ten special grandchildren, and fourteen special great grandchildren.

            Surviving children are Terry Somerville of Creston, IL, Pamela Somerville of Oregon, IL, and Tammy (Merle) Miller of Wauseon, OH.

            She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Dean Elliott, sisters, Nancy Case, Bernita Toye, and Marvin Somerville.

            Surviving family are James Elliott of Necedah, WI, Terry Elliott from Lublin, WI, Dennis (Betty) Elliott from Cortland, IL, Robert (Bonnie) Elliott, Chetek, WI, Priscilla (Randy) Weinke from Rib Lake, WI and Patti (Ramon) Niemier from La Crosse, WI.

            In recent months Arnee expressed interest in expressing some of her own thoughts in her obituary. She wanted to thank the people who loved her, cared for her, laughed with her, and were with her as she experienced some of life’s interesting lessons.

            These were her words…

            Being one in a family of ten already I experienced many lessons in life. Some brought many laughs and fun memories. I would like to thank my four sisters, for being my rock and sounding board all through my life. My five brothers who taught me to be strong and fight for what I believed was right… my son Terry for his strength and stubbornness to never give up and my two daughters Pamela and Tammy who loved and cared for me and brought so much happiness into my life. I would like to thank Steve Benesh for giving me a wonderful 26 years, his son Tony and wife Carla for helping me out so much these past years and grandson Blake and great grandson Graham for always making sure I was safe and made sure I had anything I needed. I had some dear friends who have provided me with many fun memories and last but not least my two dogs Spike and Sadie who have provided me years of faithful companionship. You all had a very special place in my heart in many different ways….

  A Celebration of Arnee's well lived life will be held at the Oregon VFW on Saturday June 24, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
