Cecil E. Kitson

Cecil E. Kitson, 83, of Oregon died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in Franklin Grove Living & Rehabilitation Center. Born May 17, 1938 in Batchtown, IL the son of William E. and Rosalie (Follis) Kitson. Married to Margaret Kelly June 19, 1959 in Savanna. Cecil was a US Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War. Cecil worked many years driving truck, employed by Wood Products of Savanna, Carlson Transport of Byron and Ruan Trucking of Oregon. He also operated a truck mechanical service before retiring. He was a past member of the Moose Lodge in Savanna and Mt. Morris. Survived by his wife, Marge Kitson of Oregon; son, Todd Kitson of Oregon; daughter, Letha (Chris) Catalina of Oregon; grandchildren: William, Audrey, Olivia, Sophia, Evelyn, Raina, Alexis and Jazmin; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth (Jane) Kitson of Carrollton; and sister, Belva (Jim) Hampsey of Jerseyville. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mildred. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, August 14 at East Oregon Church of God with Pastor Rick Eldred officiating. Burial in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Paynes Point. Visitation Friday 5:00 – 7:00pm in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
