Charles Dilbeck, Jr.

Charles W. Dilbeck, Jr., 88, of Oregon died Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at KSB Hospital, Dixon.  He was born February 8, 1934 in Oconee, IL, the son of Charles W. & Anna (Howell) Dilbeck, Sr. He married Phyllis J. Helman in Adeline, IL on Feb. 15, 1954; she died in 2015.  Charles lived over 30 years in the Leaf River and Oregon areas and enjoyed his daily coffee time at Bellas Restaurant and also enjoyed casinos. He collected and restored single shot boys’ rifles. Charles worked at Case, IH, and Dohrn Transport and retired as a mechanic from the Ogle County Highway Department.  Survivors include children, Daniel (Mary Jo) Dilbeck of Winnebago and Kenneth (Melissa) Dilbeck of Oregon; siblings, Ron (Phyllis) Dilbeck of Davis Junction, Shirley Bryant of Rochelle, and Pat (Mike) Chantos of Nashville, TN; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis after 61 years of marriage, brother Gregg, sister Pamela, son Robert M. Dilbeck, daughter Betty J. Dilbeck, and granddaughter Rebecca M. Dilbeck.

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7th St., Oregon with Rev. Frank Lay officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be in Lightsville Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Oregon VFW or Mt. Morris Moose Lodge.
