Stillman Valley, IL – Cherry H. Lewis, age 81, died Sunday, May 8, 2022 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. She was born August 2, 1940 in Rockford the daughter of John and Lucy (Anderson) Knight. Cherry graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1958 and then attended Rockford Beauty School. She married Ronald A. Lewis on December 13, 1958 at the Congregational Christian Church in Stillman Valley where she was a member since 1954. She also taught Sunday School at the church for over 25 years. Cherry owned and operated Cherry’s Beauty Shop for many years in her home. She and her husband Ron enjoyed traveling to collect antiques with their friends. They also loved dancing and were members of the “Top of the Line Dance Club” in Rockford. She also enjoyed camping, doing puzzles, and playing cards with her card club. She was predeceased by her parents John and Lucy Knight, her sister Donna Cloyd, brother John “Bub” Knight, and niece Penny Cloyd. She is survived by her husband Ronald A. Lewis, daughter Candy (Scott) Beck, and son Ronald (Debbie) Lewis all of Stillman Valley; grandchildren Clay (Jessie) Coffey of Davis Junction, Ally (Andrew) Davis of Crestview, Florida; great-grandchildren Gunner and Quinn Coffey, Grayson and Addalynn Davis; step grandchildren Stephanie (John) Hugentober, Angela (Jarrod) Bisch; step great-grandchildren McKenna and Maren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 10:00 am, Friday, May 13, 2022 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 136 W. Roosevelt Road in Stillman Valley with the Pastor Leslie Petty officiating. Burial will be at the Stillman Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening, May 12, 2022 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home. A memorial fund is established in Cherry Lewis’s name.
