Darrell "Curly" L. Hagemann

Oregon, IL – Darrell L. “Curly” Hagemann, age 89, died Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born June 30, 1933 in Rockford, IL the son of Fred and Mildred (Butterbaugh) Hagemann.  He attended Morris-Kennedy School in Rockford, IL and graduated from Mount Morris High School in 1951. He married Marian “Joan” Smith on Nov. 21, 1952 in Dixon, IL.  He served his country in the U. S. Army from 1953-1955.  Curly was a former member of the Church of the Brethren in Mt. Morris and currently a member of the Pine Creek Christian Church near Polo and the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge.  He loved taking care of his cows on the family farm, remodeling everything, mowing his yard, and loved cutting wood throughout the year making sure he would be warm during the winter.  He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marian "Joan" Smith, and his brother Ralph Hagemann.  He is survived by his 3 sons; Mike Hagemann of Rockford, IL, Mark (Judy) Hagemann of Rochelle, IL, and Brad (Sandy) Hagemann of Waukesha, WI, his companion Elizabeth Elliott of Oregon, 6 grandchildren; Ashley (Ryan) Stewart, Taryn (Zachary) Larsen, Kylee Hagemann-Alderks, Markee (Kyle) Macklin, Cody Hagemann, and Taylor Hagemann, 9 great grandchildren; Liam, Madden, Maizy, Haedyn, Cooper, Boone, Beckett, Brixlee, and Wrenlee.  A Memorial Service with military honors will be held 10:00 am Thursday, December 15, 2022 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7^th Street Oregon, IL  61061 with the Rev. Suzanne Hall Stout pastor of the Pine Creek Christian Church officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the service at the funeral home.  A memorial fund is established for the Carefree 4-H Club.
