Dawn N. Nance passed away at Swedish American Heart Hospital on Thursday, March 16, 2023. Dawn was born on April 9, 1961 in Rockford, the daughter of Harold and Alice (Panscik) Nance. She graduated from Oregon High School in 1979. After school, Dawn worked at the local LOMC summer camp where she found her love for children. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon. Dawn loved many things, most of which was her family. Her favorite time of year was Christmas, because she enjoyed giving to her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She loved country music and going to Branson. She enjoyed gardening, plants, and bowling in leagues. In her spare time, Dawn could be found knitting and sharing her creations with others. Sports were a big part of her life whether it was football or baseball, she would never want to miss a chance to cheer on her team. Dawn will be remembered for big heart and sympathetic and thoughtful personality. She just loved life.
Dawn is preceded in death by her father, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and her Sister-in-law Susan June Nance.
Dawn is survived by her mother, Alice Nance; brothers Mike (Juile) Nance of Rockford, and Steve (Cheryl) Nance of La Salle; her nieces and nephews, Michelle (Victor) Hughes of Rockford, Niki (Dustin) Kimball of Bettendorf, IA, Matt Nance of Peru IL, and Joshua (Kelly) Nance of Toluca, IL; great nieces and nephews Faith, Victor II, Justice A., Madelynn, Brayden, Oliver, June, Ella, and Addy.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are established in her name.
