Dean H. Moore fell asleep in the Lord peacefully at home on May 4, 2021 at 7:15. He passed of natural causes having lived a long full life to the age of 94. He was born March 20, 1927 in Los Angles, California son of Howard and Thelma Moore. While living with his family in northern California he attended summer Bible School in Oregon, IL and found great hope in the message of Biblical scripture and later returned to Oregon, IL to attend Oregon Bible College and complete his senior year of high school. While attending Bible College he met his current wife Virginia Moore of Grand Rapids, Mich. They were married at Pennell Wood Church of God in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Oct. 11, 1952. Their honeymoon was at Mackinac Island in Upper Michigan. He graduated Oregon Bible College with a BA of Theology. Then the couple began a journey of serving God through pastoral ministry and missions. He served in a pastoral role at various times in the following Church of God congregations: East Oregon Chapel; Oak Grove, Arkansas; Baltimore, Maryland 1952; Freemont, Nebraska 1953-1954; Was a full time student at Bob Jones Univ. in South Carolina in 1955 -1956 for further training in ministry; Blanchard Church of God Blanchard, Michigan 1957 (While in Michigan their first child was born 1958, Second child born 1961, Dean ministered to migrant workers from Mexico and discipled a man who latter planted a church with him in Mexico) ;Mullin, Texas; Gatesville, Texas; Saltillo, Mexico; Harlingen Texas; Little Rock, Arkansas and Arkansas churches (Clarks Chapel, Hot Springs, Batesville) Dixon Church of God Illinois ; Blessed Hope Rockford, Illinois; and multiple mission team trips to Mexico. Since that time he continued ministry through writing scriptural articles inspired by the Lord.
Survived by:
Wife of 68 years Virginia Moore; Two Daughters: Sharon Bliss (Dan), Eileen Moore; Brother Jerry Moore (Marianne); Four Grandchildren: Matthew Bliss, John Bliss, Michael Bliss (Kelle), Sarah Bliss. Two great grandchildren: Elias Bliss, Louis Bliss. Two Nephews: Gregg Moore, Mike Moore. His interest included sharing about the Lord with friends and family, studying scripture and the return of Christ, writing lessons, mailing out lessons and audio tapes to encourage others in the faith. He also enjoyed in his early years playing the piano and skiing. Most recently enjoyed playing with his grandkids and great grandkids, watching sunsets, observing the stars and consolations, talking about the solar system, reading books on nature and national parks, feeding and watching the birds, and having inspiration conversations with family and friends about issues of biblical faith.
He is remembered for his loving gentle spirit, generosity, positive encouraging nature, always being helpful to others, and selflessness to live simply and give to others in need. He loved talking about all we can be grateful for, the hope of Christs coming and how to bring others to know of God’s unconditional love and hope for the future. He had a gift to see life through the perspective of eternity, help others appreciate the wonder and vastness of the universe and all of natural creation, as well as appreciate the smallest flower blossom, and colorful butterfly. \
