Dennis (Denny) Lee King, age 77, of Byron, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. He was born April 23, 1944 the son of Robert L. and Nadine (Biggart) King, in Dixon. He attended Highschool in Byron, where he met his beloved wife, Kay, and attended college in Pasadena, CA. He worked for many years as a brick layer, while also working at the Indian Village, where he was owner, manager, cook and bartender extraordinaire. Denny will best be remembered as an endearing force of nature who was quick with a joke (usually dirty) followed by a wink, smile and a great big laugh. He loved his grandkids, traveling, skiing and watching his Chicago sports teams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nadine King, brother, Jerry King, and wife, Kay King. Survived by son, Jason King, grandchildren, Hunter & Haylee King; son, Jared King (Kristin), grandchildren, Owen & Henry King. Denny also leaves behind nieces, Bonnie Hettinger Pond (Jay), Wendy Swanson & Kelly Quast, and Rebeccah King. Nephews, Brian Hettinger and Jon King. He also leaves behind 9 great-nieces & nephews (Kristin, Rebecca & Robby Pond, Eric Swanson, Zachary, Owen & Brooke Quast, Angelika and Alex King).
In lieu of services, a celebration of life will take place in the summer.
And remember as Denny always said, “You be careful out there”.
