Emerald Brass, Jr.

Emerald G. Brass, Jr passed away at KSB hospital in Dixon on March 24, 2022 after a long battle with diabetes and cardiac complications. He was born in Rochelle, IL on January 17, 1954 the son of Emerald G. and Rosella (Dirksen) Brass, Sr. Emerald graduated from Oregon High School Class of 1973. After high school; he spent time training harness racing horses with his father. He worked at Hormel foods in Rochelle before leaving to work many years at Quebecor in Mt. Morris. Following that, he worked at Sports N More in Rockford. Emerald attended Ebenezer Reformed Church in Oregon. He was a huge Indianapolis Colts fan. He is survived by his mother, Rosella Brass of Oregon; sisters, Joan Brass of Oregon and Rosemary (Wes) Prewett of Stillman Valley; and many cousins. He is preceded in death by his father. Cremation rights have been accorded. No services will be held. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
