Harold Hilliard

Harold D. Hilliard, age 83, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born in Cisne, IL on August 20, 1938 the son of Ira and Jessie (Powless) Hilliard. He married Joyce Endres on August 19, 1961. Harold enjoyed following high school sports and loved cheering on the Green Bay Packers. In his spare time; he could be found spending time in his garage, doing yardwork, or woodworking. He enjoyed being outdoors taking walks and traveling to Colorado. But, the most important thing in his life was spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joyce of Byron; children, Dean Hilliard of Byron, Lisa (Roger) Kirkland of Rockford, and Jason (Aarica McCammond) Hilliard of Winnebago; sisters, Maryann (Bob) Arn of Byron and Deanne (Rick) Munhollon of Byron; grandchildren, Jessica (Jeff) Bacher, Tim (Mindy) Hilliard, Maribeth Hilliard, Abigail Hilliard, Kayla Hilliard, and Taylor Hilliard; and great grandchildren, Conner, Kaylee, Claira, Cameron, and Heidi. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister-in-law Larry (Phyllis) Hilliard, and son, Randy Hilliard. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, on Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 506 W. Merchant Street in Byron, IL with Pastor Katrina Steingraeber officiating.  Visitation will be held prior to the services at the funeral home from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.  Burial will be at Byron Cemetery.  A memorial fund is established in Harold’s name.
