Harry A. Travis

Harry A. Travis, age 98, of Oregon, Illinois, went to his heavenly home on Wednesday, June 19, 2024. Harry was born February 15, 1926, the son of George and Carrie Grace (Longman) Travis. Harry graduated from Oregon High School Class of 1944. Harry was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II from 1944 – 1946. He was married to Martha R. Schabacker on February 12, 1950 in Rochelle, Illinois. He was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Paynes Point, Illinois. Harry worked as a farmer, fence builder, and plastering contractor in the Oregon area. Harry is survived by his Children: Terry (Cheryl) Travis, Randy Travis (Rachel Dalton), June Danekas, and Edward Travis, Grandchildren: Kori (Wade) Wolter, Jennifer (Loren) Quast, Matthew (Natalie) Travis, Joe Danekas, and Kevin Danekas, Great Grandchildren: Alaina Wolter, Landry Wolter, and Hadley Quast, and Sister: Isabelle Bachman. Harry was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, three sisters, and infant son, Larry Travis. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home, 110 South 7th Street, Oregon, IL with Pastor Dave Rogula officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 AM until the time of service.
