Harvey L. Bos, age 91, of Oregon died on May 17, 2024 at Franklin Grove Living and Rehabilitation Center. He was a teacher and director at Kaneland School District, Mid-Valley Area Vocational Center, Ottawa Twp. High School and the Illinois State Board of Education for 30 years. He served in the army during the Korean War near Seoul, Korea. Later he was a realtor in Sycamore and a personnel director at Creative Calligraphy in DeKalb. He retired in 2000.
He is a member of the Evangelical Free Church of Mt. Morris. He was a life member of the American Motorcycle Association, the Christian Motorcyclist Association, the Patriot Guard Riders and the Oregon VFW. He enjoyed volunteering at the Tri-County Animal Shelter.
He was born on February 5, 1933 to William and Agnes Bos in Morrison, IL. He married Nancy Kay Wolfe on March 25, 1970 in Geneva, IL.
Survivors include his two sons, David (Louise) Bos of Monument, CO, and Rickey (Darla) Bos of Leaf River, IL; a daughter, Lisa Bos of DeKalb, IL; a stepdaughter, Denyse Christensen of Elburn, IL; a sister Karen (John) Mouw of Norwalk, IA; ten grandchildren, and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
A graveside service will be held at a later date for family and friends at Riverview Cemetery in Oregon.
