Jeannine Hayes

Stillman Valley, IL - Jeannie L. Hayes, age 79, died Saturday, April 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.  She was born Oct. 29, 1941 in Rockford the daughter of George and Mary (Oakley) Tegner.  She graduated from Harlem High School in 1959 and then attended NIU after High School.  She was a member of the All Saints Lutheran Church in Byron, IL.  She loved to read, especially Harry Potter books.  She also loved spending time with her family. She loved cats and all types of flowers. She was predeceased by her parents.  She is survived by her husband Emery of Stillman Valley, her daughter Diane (Brian) Mills of Oregon, and sister Gayle (Paul) Wood of Waterloo, Iowa.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Friday, April 23, 2021 at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Byron with the Rev. Janet Wold pastor of the church officiating.  Please practice social distancing and wear a mask. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.  Burial will be at the White Rock Cemetery near Kings, IL.  A memorial fund is established for the American Heart Association.
