Judith Kay Ackerman, age 82, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at Generations at Neighbors Nursing Home in Byron. She was born in Rockford on August 6, 1941 the daughter of William and Evelyn (Johnson) Bachman. She grew up in Winnebago and graduated from Winnebago High School Class of 1961. Judith married the love of her life, Jack Ackerman on December 15, 1973 and they built a beautiful and loving life together for the next 50 years. Judith worked in the Byron Middle School cafeteria for over 23 years and also sold Avon for many years. Judith had a zest for life and loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her husband especially to Vegas and taking shopping trips with her daughter. She found pleasures in the simple things in life like watching the hummingbirds and wild life on her back deck or people watching when in the city. She was a woman of faith and liked attending church when she was able and going to Gaither concerts whenever they were close by. She was a collector of dolls and angels. In her spare time, she could be found reading or scrapbooking. More than anything, she was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Bachman. She is survived and missed by her husband, Jack of Byron; daughter, Tonya Tucker of Oregon; brothers, Dwayne (Darlene) Bachman and Dave (Carol) Bachman both of Winnebago; granddaughters, Amber Tucker of North Dakota and Courtney (Josie) Withers of Dixon; great granddaughters, Dani Withers and Bailey Withers; special niece, Emilie McClintock; and many nieces and nephews. Per her request no services will be held at this time.
