Judith Ann Freedlund

Winnebago, IL – Judith Ann Freedlund, age 82, went to her heavenly home on December 26, 2024. She was born on November 30, 1942 in Rockford, IL the daughter of Wilbur and Helene (Ippen) Hoffmann. She graduated from Winnebago High School. She married Warren Freedlund on March 30, 1963 at Middle Creek Presbyterian Church near Winnebago. Judy was an active member of Faith Center in Rockford. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Gideons International. She was employed by Freedlund Bros. as the Manager of Dairy Infant Resources and fed calves, cats, dogs and men. She also worked for the Rockford Rescue Mission at their various resale shops for 10 years. Judy was known by others as an encourager and a good listener. She would often write notes to friends and family on their birthdays, anniversaries and other occasions. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Warren Freedlund, in August and her sister, Janice Painter. She is survived and missed by her children, Cathy (Allan) Levandowski of Winnebago and Robert (Isabel) Freedlund of Byron; brother James (Pam) Hoffmann of Winnebago; grandchildren Benjamin Levandowski, Abby (Tim) Fine, Anna Freedlund, Andrew Freedlund, Alex Freedlund, Donya (Ray) Sweeney, and Desi (Jesse) Warnke and numerous others who affectionately called her Grandma; 6 great grandchildren and many special nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Faith Center in Rockford. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Faith Center. The burial will be held at 1:30 PM on Friday at Middle Creek Cemetery. Memorials are established for Faith Center in Rockford, IL and Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL.
