Karen P. Moran, age 80, peacefully passed away at home on February 3, 2024. She was born on April 19, 1943, in Crystal Falls, Michigan, the daughter of David Amos and Agnes (West) Carlson. On April 18, 1964, she married the love of her life, William Moran, in Chicago. They spent many years in Lombard, Illinois before settling down in Oregon to retire. Karen was known as a strong-willed woman, who was known as a fashionable dresser in her youth. Once a mother, she was content in motherhood and homemaking. In her spare time, she enjoyed floral arranging. She loved the holidays. She was thoughtful of everyone in her family and enjoyed making custom stockings and Easter baskets for each of them. Karen was a woman of faith, and was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by her children, William Moran of Wheaton, Brian Moran of Wheaton, and Corinne Moran of Oak Park; her siblings, David, Jackie and June and several nieces and nephews; and her two grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, Sarah and Jake LaPat. A catholic funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 12, 2024, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Oregon.
