Larry L. Myers, age 84, died Friday, March 14, 2025 at Independence Village of Rockford. He was born August 19, 1940 in Adeline, IL the youngest son of Clifford and Mildred Myers. He married Marjie, the love of his life, on June 22, 1963 in Adeline, IL. Larry graduated from Leaf River High School in 1958 where he was actively involved in sports and was a standout in basketball, playing his last scrimmage at 77 years old at the Byron PE Center where he had played on many leagues. He traveled throughout Illinois and Wisconsin watching high school basketball games and followed many players through their college and professional careers. In his younger years Larry liked to hunt and fish with his Adeline friends and cousins. He and his wife Marjie would spend time together taking road trips to quilt shows and bike trails and traveling with their camper to watch their granddaughter’s sporting events. They enjoyed eating out and had several favorite, local restaurants through the years. Many trips were made to Freeport where they would meet his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marcie and Joe Conder for dinner. He worked for Kable Printing Company in Mt. Morris, IL and then for Sundstrand Corp. in Rockford, IL. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Marjie, brothers Ken, Max, Keith and Donald and sister Jean. He is survived by his children Carolyn Myers, and Tommy Myers (Susan LaPointe); brother Robert Myers; grandchildren Jeff (Jessica) Myers, Crystal Myers (Justin Burke), Amber Myers (Fred Uryasz) and Madison Myers; great grandchildren Kaitlyn Myers, Blake Myers, and Kyliee Myers; several nieces and nephews. At Larry’s request, no services are being held at this time. Special thanks to the staff of Independence Village, All Life Solutions and Sanctuary Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
