Larry A. Wright

Larry A. Wright, age 73, died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford, IL.  He was born April 22, 1950 in Dwight, Illinois the son of Leland and Ruth (Gantzert) Wright.  Larry graduated from Oregon High School in 1968 and the University of Illinois in 1972 with a degree in biology.  He owned and operated Wright Builders Construction Company in Oregon.  Larry was instrumental in the development of several subdivisions in the Oregon area.  He also enjoyed being in his workshop making furniture out of wood.  He married his true love Janice on December 16, 1999 in Oregon.  Larry was proud to be a University of Illinois Alumni.  He was predeceased by his father Leland Wright and recently his sister Nancy Wright.  He is survived by his wife Janice; mother Ruth Wood; brothers Jack (Jane) Wright of Columbus, Ohio, and James (Sue) Wright of Chystal Lake, IL; step daughter Kara (Ron) Anderson of Belvidere, IL; and 3 grandchildren whom he adored Lucas, Landon, and Lyla.  A private funeral service will be held on Jan. 12, 2023.  Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery near Oregon, IL.  A memorial fund is established in Larry’s name and may be directed to the Oregon Fire Protection District.
