MT. MORRIS ~ Linda R. Lynch, 73, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Freeport Memorial Hospital in Freeport, IL. Born to Glen and Elaine (Schultz) Glover on May 23rd 1950 in St. Joseph's Hospital in Aurora, IL. She was a 4th generation Napervillian. She was the 3rd generation to attend Naper Elementary School. Her Grandpa Schultz went to the original wooden school that burned down. She and her mother attended and rebuilt the newer brick one. She attended Washington Jr. High School where her mother had gone to high school, and graduated from Naperville High School in 1968. Then she attended Elgin School of Beauty Culture. She married Barry Alan Lynch at Bethany Lutheran Church in Naperville on June 26, 1976. She had one child, Megan Allissa Lynch on July 27, 1979. She always said her daughter was her best friend. She was a hairdresser for 20 years, then went into the food industry. Linda worked at a yogurt shop, Jefferson Hill Tea Room, and County Market food court. After hurting her back, she became a cashier. Due to back problems, she retired in 2003. In 2004 she moved to Oregon with her family. She attended St. Paul Lutheran Church. She moved to Mt.Morris in 2014. She always said her home was in Mt.Morris, but her heart was in Oregon. Preceded in death by brothers Rodney and Michael; in laws Maurice and Ruth Lynch; brother-in-law Harold Rife; Godmother and Aunt Marlene; husband Barry; mother Elaine and father Glen. Linda is survived by her daughter Megan Fuentes; granddaughters Brianna, Alexandra, and Gabriella Fuentes; sisters Patricia (Larry) Brossman, Pamela Rife and Melissa Christian; uncle Frankie (Gae) Schultz; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A visitation will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Oregon, IL on Friday, May 17, 2024, between the hours of 11:00 am & 12:00 pm. Immediately following the visitation will be a funeral service to honor her life at the church conducted by Reverend Terese Whitten beginning at 12:00 pm. Linda will be laid to rest in Daysville Cemetery next to her husband. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations are established in Linda’s name and may be directed to the family.
