Linn W. Weber, age 94, passed away at home surrounded by his family on September 25, 2023. He was born on January 27, 1929 in Rockford the son of William and Margaret (Linn) Weber. He attended Rockford schools and graduated from West High School. Linn married Josephine “Jo” Love on April 19, 1951. He was a proud veteran who served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in sales for Eclipse in Rockford. He was a member of the United Church of Byron. Linn spent many years raising and racing thoroughbred horses. In his spare time, he enjoyed socializing with his friends and family over a good meal or playing golf. Linn was an active member of the Byron Lion’s Club and was a Melvin Jones Fellow Award recipient. Linn is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother, Robert Weber. He is survived and missed by his children, Richard (Kathleen) Weber of Lanark, David (Deborah) Weber of Winnebago, and Polly (Keven) Hoover of Loveland, CO; grandchildren, Layla (Nate) Atherton of Lanark, Nicole (Jon) Palmer of Winnebago, Amanda (Todd) Jennings of Monroe Center, Kelli (Quinn) Virgil of Oregon, Morgan (Bill Clift) Hoover of Loveland, CO, and Kyle (Kate) Hoover of Johnstown, CO; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials are established for the United Church of Byron, the Byron Lion’s Club, and Mercyhealth Hospice.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Prairieview Golf Course Pavilion in Byron.
