Lorretta Alma Jean Sigler, age 81, passed away on December 5, 2024, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL. She was born in St. Louis, MO on December 27, 1942. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Sigler, Sr. in Farmington, MO on August 5, 1961, and they built a beautiful life together until he passed away on November 17, 2020. Lorretta was a woman of faith and loved being an involved member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Dixon. Her family was her entire world, and she loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She had a caring heart and was a caretaker for her daughter Tammy until her passing on April 4, 2020. Caring for Tammy helped her find her passion for people with special needs and she spent many hours volunteering and working for The Village of Progress and the Special Olympics in the Chicago area. She was a friend to everyone and enjoyed her time with her Village Retirement Luncheon Group. In her spare time, she would spend hours reading and enjoying her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Florence (Hutchinson) Bone, husband William Sigler, Sr, daughter, Tammy Rae Sigler, and siblings, George Bone, Barbara Blevins, Jane Bates and Shirley Verdin. She is survived and missed by her children, Gwendolyn (Rob) Zimmerman of Oregon and William (Julie) Sigler, Jr. of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Candice Smidt, Michael (Samantha) Smidt, and Lindsey (Samuel) Gendusa all of Oregon; great grandsons, Dean Anthony Gendusa, Logan Michael Gendusa, and Parker William Smidt; brothers, Jim (Eileen) Bone of WA and Billy Hutchinson of Farmington, MO; cousin, Phillip (Barbara) Bone of Farmington, MO; special friends, Samantha Dopke, Joy Holden, and Donna Mattison; and many other loved ones and friends. A celebration of her well lived life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Dixon, IL with Pastor Andermann officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Daysville Cemetery in Oregon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Lorretta’s name may be made to Village of Progress Attendants’ Grant.
