Marilyn Gates

Stillman Valley, IL – Marilyn Ruth Gates, age 87, died Thursday, March 17, 2022 at her home near Stillman Valley.  She was born March 2, 1935 in Ellenboro, Wisconsin the daughter of Leslie and Maud Groom.  Marilyn married Fay R. Gates on Sept. 20, 1957 in Rockford, IL.  He preceded her in 2005.  Marilyn loved to collect angels.  She was predeceased by her parents Leslie and Maud Groom, her husband Fay Gates, and 8 of her siblings.  She is survived by her 2 sons Russell (Deb) Gates of Racine, Wisconsin and Barry (Wendy) Gates of Stillman Valley, IL, 2 brothers David Groom of Tennessee and Charles Groom of Wisconsin, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.  Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at the Big Mound Cemetery near Davis Junction with the Pastor David Rogula officiating.  A memorial fund is established in Marilyn’s name and may be directed to the family.  Visit www.farrellhollandgale.com to leave a condolence or memory of Marilyn.
