Marlana D. McFarland, age 34, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023. She was born in Magnolia, AR on February 28, 1989 the daughter of Wilson and Tracy (Camp) Tollett. She graduated from Winfield High School and then went on to serve her country in the Army Reserves. Serving was a huge part of Marlana’s life. She had a huge heart and was always selflessly giving to others. Marlana recently began working at the Byron Power Station and absolutely loved her job. She loved being a part of the Byron Community and felt like she found her place within it. She was a shining light anywhere she went and brought a smile to people’s faces. She was the founder of Rockford Crunchy Ladies where she helped women embrace healthy and natural lifestyle. Marlana loved nature and animals. It wasn’t unusual to find her outside foraging or gardening. She loved to travel and see the world. She had a zest for life that could be seen by anyone around her. But, the most important thing to her was her family and her children. She loved being a mother to her five precious kids more than anything else. She is survived and terribly missed by her parents, Wilson and Tracy Tollett; her children, Evelynn, James, Robert, and Amelia and their father, Dustin McFarland, Emmalee and her father, Pete Rosa; siblings, Autumn (Sean) Hernandez and Cory Tollett; grandparents, Dee Fincher and Eugene and Dale Tollett; nephew and niece, Ayden and Aubree; aunts, Tammy (Joey) Camp Freeman, Michael (Jason Anderson) Camp Wright, and Patricia Tollett. She is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Jerry Camp and John Fincher. A Candlelight vigil will be held on 3rd Street on March 28, 2023 at 7:00 PM. A celebration of Marlana's well lived life will be held beginning at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the Byron Forest Preserve. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the family.
