Martha Travis

Martha R. Travis, 91, of Oregon Illinois went to her heavenly home on September 16, 2022.  Martha was born on February 10, 1931 in Rochelle, Illinois, the daughter of Fredrick and Maxine (Hauser) Schabacker.  She was married to Harry Travis on February 12, 1950 in Rochelle Illinois.  Martha attended Rochelle High School and was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Paynes Point Illinois.  She was a member of the Women of the Moose and T.O.P.S. Club of Rochelle.  Martha loved gardening, canning, baking, raising chickens and taking care of all the farm animals.  She worked by Harry’s side farming and fencing.  Martha is survived by her husband of 72 years, Harry, Children; Terry (Cheryl) Travis, Randy Travis (Rachel Dalton), June Danekas, Edward Travis, Grandchildren; Kori (Wade) Wolter, Jennifer (Loren) Quast, Matthew (Natalie) Travis, Joe Danekas, Kevin Danekas, Great Grandchildren; Alaina Wolter, Landry Wolter, Hadley Quast, and Sisters; Caroline Kessen, Mildred Allen, Dolores Willis, Joyce Schabacker, and Elaine Powell.  Martha was preceded in death by her parents, brother Augie Schabacker and infant son Larry Travis.  Funeral service will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home in Oregon, Illinois with the Rev. Andrew Kayes pastor of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Paynes Point officiating.  Private burial will be in the Daysville Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service at the Funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 am to 11:00 am.  A memorial fund is established for Serenity Hospice Home in memory of Martha.  Visit www.farrellhollandgale.com to leave a condolence in memory of Martha.
