Mary Anne Becker

Oregon – Mary Anne Becker died peacefully September 21, 2022 in Serenity Hospice Home. She was born April 9, 1932 in Oregon, Illinois to John and Mary (Hoover) Robertson. She was the youngest of 5 children; Bruce (Claudia) Robertson, Harriet Thibault (Robert), Margaret Neuliep (Bill), and Dorothy Martin (Bernard). She attended and graduated from Oregon schools. Mary Anne married Bill Becker on September 15, 1950. They were married for 71 years until Bill died on August 6, 2020. Together Mary Anne and Bill had 4 children; Barry (Kathy) Becker, Howard (Nancy) Becker, Val (Dan) Herriot, and Randy Becker. Mary Anne had several part time jobs throughout her marriage but her greatest work was that of being a devoted and loving wife and mother. She took up water color painting later in life, loved her flowers gardens, and was an excellent cook. Along with their 4 children Bill and Mary Anne had 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at a later date at the Byron Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Serenity Hospice and Home or the Oregon Depot Museum Restoration Fund.
