Michael Estes

Michael Paul Anthony Estes, age 31, passed away on November 10, 2022. He was born in St. Louis on January 27, 1991 to Christina Barrett and Brian Estes. He graduated from Sycamore High School and worked as an assistant warehouse manager for K&M Tire in DeKalb. Michael married the love of his life Amanda Hyland in Rockford on September 19, 2020. He was a member of Riverstone Christian Church in Oregon. Michael enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheering on the Chicago Bears and Cubs. He was a holiday person especially enjoying Christmas and Halloween. He recently started woodworking and liked researching his family tree. He was someone you could count on when he committed to something. He was a family man. He adored his wife and made memories with her on a trip to Sanibel Island where he found great joy in collecting shells. He loved being a father to his children and could be found playing games and spending time with them whenever he could. He is preceded in death by his son Holden, grandmother, Phyllis Holden and father-in-law, Thomas Hyland. He is survived and missed by his loving wife, Amanda of Oregon; mother, Christina Doty of Hillcrest; father, Mark Doty of Sycamore; children, Gracelynn, Madison, and Connor; siblings, Nathan Estes of Eugene, OR, Kelli of Oregon, Miranda LaBorn of Sycamore, and Kyle Doty of Hillcrest; grandmothers, Nancy Doty of Boston and Karen Poole of Rochelle; mother-in-law, Penny Hyland of Belvidere; brothers and sisters-in-law, Greg Hyland, Dan (Anna) Hyland, Lori (Chris) Beyer, Jim (Tausha) Markell; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at Riverstone Christian Church, 609 S 10th St, Oregon, IL 61061. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday November 18, 2022 at the church with Pastor Craig Arnold officiating. Memorials are established in his name.
