Mildred I. "Millie" Mumford

Mildred I. “Millie” Mumford, age 80, died Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at KSB Hospital in Dixon.  She was born Oct. 10, 1942 in Sikeston, Missouri the daughter of Herbert and Lorene (Mckinney) McCollom.  She married Frank Mumford on Dec. 27, 1960 at the East Oregon Church of God.  They recently celebrated 62 years of marriage.  Millie previously worked for Caren Spinning Company in Oregon, PNC Company in Polo, and drove the elderly for the Rock River Center in Oregon.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She also loved flowers, camping, crafts, and collecting bears.  She was predeceased by her parents, Baby Mumford Twins; 4 brothers: Charles McCollom, James McCollom, Michael McCollom, and Fred McCollom.  She is survived by her husband Frank Mumford of Mt. Morris; 3 children: Denny (Deb) Mumford of Polo, Kelly (Dave Rauch) Coil of Loves Park, and Lynette (Rick) Avery of Mt. Morris; 4 brothers: Thomas (Sue) McCollom of Mendota, John (Deb) McCollom of Dixon, Jerry McCollom of Rockford, and David McCollom of Arkansas; grandchildren: Kristy (Rissa) Richardson of Polo, Nicole(Ryan) Zwettler of Cuba City, WI, Courtney (James) Meador of Polo, Jessica (Michael Gilbert of Mt. Morris, Seth (Katlyn) Avery of Oregon, Mackenzie Avery of Oregon, and Nathan Avery of Mt. Morris; great-grandchildren: Tegan Wright, Emma Gilbert, Makayla Gilbert, LeRoy Meador, Virginia Zwettler, and baby Isaac Avery on the way.  Private funeral service will be held at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7^th Street in Oregon, IL with the Chaplain Willie Little officiating.  Burial will be at the Daysville Cemetery near Oregon.  A memorial fund is established for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
