Pamela J. Lenz, age 77, passed away December 18, 2023 at Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, Illinois after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 7, 1946 to Cecil F. and A. Rosemary (Sanford) McLane at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, IL. Pamela graduated from Princeton High School in 1964. After high school, she went to work at Josten’s. She married Danny Nevitt (deceased) in May of 1969.  They had three children. She married Robert Lenz on September 7, 1991 on her 45th birthday. While married to Danny and living in Tiskilwa, Illinois, she babysat many children.  She loved taking care of children. After marrying Bob and moving to Mt. Morris, she took up babysitting again. That was her favorite job. She especially liked taking care of her granddaughter Alexis. She also enjoyed gardening, collecting dolls, doing crafts, crocheting, sewing, taking care of her plants, traveling, taking care of her pet birds, feeding the squirrels, and teaching cake decorating. She is predeceased by: her parents Cecil McLane and Rosemary McLane; grandparents Clarence and Ruby McLane and Cory and Alphia Kiser; and infant sister Andora. She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Lenz; her children: Shawn (Nicole) Nevitt of Katy, Texas; Dana (Bradley) Spilinek of North Pole, Alaska; and Sara (Steve) Morris of Mt. Morris; three brothers: Keith (Evelyn) McLane; Kevin (Annette) McLane; and Dennis (Cheryl) McLane; and sisters: Stephanie Farrell; and Jeanette (James) Reeder. Also survived by her grandchildren: Daniel (Megan) Nevitt; Hunter Nevitt; Sophia Spilinek; Alexis Morris; Kelsi Morris; Tiffany (Brandon) Keene; Joshua Lenz; and great-grandson Dominic Keene, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. At Pamela’s request, there will be a private graveside service at a later date. A memorial fund is established for the Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, IL and may be directed to her family.
