Patricia A. Jones

OREGON, IL ~ Patricia “Pat” A. Jones, 89, longtime area resident, passed away in her home in Oregon, IL, on Friday, January 10, 2025. She was born on July 20, 1935, in Franklin Grove, IL, the daughter of Lee & Amy (Beard) Mon. She graduated from Byron High School of Byron, IL. She married the love of her life George “Charlie” D. Jones on July 4, 1958, in Byron, IL. The two spent the next 63 year building a life and family together, until his passing in 2021. Throughout her life she enjoyed many simple things like gardening, flowers and bowling in her younger years. Pat is preceded in death by her parents Lee & Amy, husband Charlie, 1 brother, 4 sisters, 3 half-brothers, 1 half-sister. She is survived and missed dearly by her loving son Duane (Sharon Thunberg) Jones of Oregon, IL; daughter Tina (Stuart) Typer of Byron, IL; grandchildren; Rebecca (Aaron) Wilson, LeAnne (Ryan) Kessler, Justine (Brian) Stenzel; Christen (Alex) Styche, Matt (Ashely) Farrey; step-grandchildren Kyle Thunberg & Jena Williams; great-grandchildren; Rylee Farrey, Jett Stenzel, Jake Wilson, Sydney Styche; step-great-grandchildren; Ethan & Allison Kessler, Harper Wilson, Jaxon Slomian; her amazing caregiver Pamela Edwards; and many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services in Pat’s honor will take place on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home of Oregon, IL, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Luke Schier presiding. A visitation will take place immediately prior beginning at 10:00 AM. Pat will then be laid to rest alongside her husband, Charlie, at Grand Detour Cemetery, of Grand Detour, IL, following the services at the funeral home.
