Patricia J. "Pat" Medlar

Oregon, IL – Patricia J. “Pat” Medlar, age 86, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023 at the Serenity Hospice and Home near Oregon.  She was born June 17, 1936 in Geneva, IL the daughter of Owen and Carolyn (French) Reynolds.  Pat graduated from Wheaton, IL High School and then attended the Northern Illinois University where she met the love of her life Gerald L. “Jerry” Medlar.  They were married Sept. 8, 1956 in Dekalb, IL.  Together they were blessed with 2 children.  Their son Jay was born Aug. 29, 1957 in St. Charles, IL and daughter Carolee was born Dec. 9, 1958 when the lived in Monterey, CA when Jerry was stationed in the Army. Pat assisted her husband Jerry with his accounting business.   Pat was an avid golfer and loved spending time at the Oregon Country Club with her many friends she made there.  She also enjoyed bowling and traveling.  She was a member of the Oregon United Methodist Church and a member of the Ambassador’s Club through the Dixon National Bank with whom she would often go on trips.  Pat was predeceased by her parents, husband Jerry, and her son Jay.  She is survived by her daughter Carolee (Michael) James of Dixon; daughter-in-law Laura Medlar Mt. Morris; granddaughter Natalie (Jeremy) Coy of Mt. Morris; great granddaughter Harmony Huseman, and many nieces and nephews.  A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at the Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, 110 S. 7^th Street, Oregon, IL with the Pastor Dave Rogula officiating.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is established in Patricia Medlar’s name for the Serenity Hospice and Home, 1658 Illinois Route 2 South, Oregon, IL 61061.
