Oregon

Philip J. Schneeberger, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Oregon Living and Rehab. He was born on May 9, 1940 in Melrose Park, IL the son of Philip and Marie (Harold) Schneeberger. He grew up in Forest Park and graduated from Proviso East High School. While in attendance there he learned to have a love of music; joining the marching band where he played the B flat clarinet. After high school he married Judith Potter on June 30, 1962 and they built a wonderful and faithful life together raising two children before she preceded him in death on September 28, 2001. He later met Connie whom he fell in love with and married in January of 2004. Philip was a man with a strong faith in the Lord and loved worship music. As an adult he rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized and then got to baptize his daughter on the same day as she followed his lead rededicating her life to Christ as well. He worked for many years as a postal clerk and enjoyed his job before retirement. In his spare time; he enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing or spending time woodworking in his workshop. He also loved capturing moments with photography. Philip was a train enthusiast for both actual trains and model trains. But, more than anything he was passionate about his family and friends. He was an amazing and involved father, grandfather, and husband who loved each of them abundantly. He loved fiercely and always made sure his children’s friends knew that their home was a safe space for everyone to be and he carried that philosophy and kindness with him everywhere he went. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife Judith. He is survived and missed by his children, Philip (Stephanie) Schneeberger of Lombard and Julie (Scott) Cain of Memphis, TN; wife, Connie of Oregon; grandchildren, Zachary (Leslie) Schneeberger, Alexandra Schneeberger, Lauren (Elise Duvall) Konrade, and Evan (Rachel) Cain; great grandchildren, Tahli Cain and Ava Cain; and many other friends and family.
