On Tuesday, July 19, 2022 Philip Houston, loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully and with his family at the age of 87. Phil was born September 16, 1934 to Edna and Kenneth Houston. He graduated from Stillman Valley High School in 1953, during which time he met Carol Mohr. After volunteering for the U. S. Army and spending a three year tour of duty in Germany, he married Carol at the Holcomb Presbyterian Church in 1956. He worked for Sundstrand for over 35 years, but he is probably better remembered in all of the golf courses, bowling alleys and auction houses where he spent time with his family and friends. Wherever he went however, he quickly made easy conversation with anyone sitting next to him. He cared greatly for his family, his friends and his community. Phil has gone on to reunite with his Mother and Father, brothers Kenny and Al, and sisters Barb and Bonnie. He will be fondly remembered here by his wife Carol, son Brad (wife Debbi), daughter Tina (husband Mike), grandsons Jacob, Colin, Jon, Joel, and Brandon, and great-grandchildren Kyle, Andrew, Autumn and Rosie. A graveside service will be held on August 27 at 10:00 am in the Stillman Valley Cemetery in Stillman Valley, IL. A celebration of life will be held at the All Saints Lutheran Church in Byron, IL immediately following the service so that everyone can have a chance to remember the fond times they had with Phil. Also, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be sent to the Village of Progress, located in Oregon, IL.
