Rev. Carlton Easley

Oregon, IL – Rev. Carlton K. Easley, age 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, December 4, 2020.  He was born December 25, 1937 in Eldorado, Oklahoma the son to Gordon and Ernesteen (Shumaker) Easley.  He graduated from Eldorado High School in 1956 and obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry from Southern Nazarene University (Bethany Nazarene College) in 1961.   He married Lilly Mae Owens on March 24, 1962 at the Westside Church of the Nazarene in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He pastored at Red Oak, West Des Moines, and Mt. Pleasant, Iowa before moving to Oregon, IL in 1976.  Since the early 1980’s he pastored at the North Grove Christian Church and Ridott Community Church retiring in 2012.  He was an avid reader who loved people, telling stories and sharing his love for Christ. He was predeceased by his parents, wife Lilly Mae, son Jeremy, and sister Linda Kay Mason.   He is survived by his 4 children; Carlene Easley, Nathaniel Easley, Lydia Easley and her husband Gabriel Cortinas, and Joanna Easley, his siblings; Donnie Pirtle, Pallie (Darrell) Ezell, Rev. Keith Easley, Rev. Dr. Ray (Dianne) Easley, Rev. Paul (Cindy) Easley, Esther (Paul) Easley-Peak, Rev. David (Joy) Easley, and Rachel (Philip) Going, 3 grandchildren; Tarah Cardenas, Gaia Cortinas, and Carys Cortinas, 3 Great grandchildren; Elizza Easley, Sebastian Cardenas, and Leo Cardenas, and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 at the North Grove Christian Church near Egan with the Rev. Dr. Ray Easley and the Rev. Dr. Chris Brauns Co-officiating the service.  A visitation will be prior to the service from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the church.  Burial will be at the North Grove Christian Cemetery.  A memorial fund is established for the Latin-American Outreach Mission Missionary Trails, PO Box 3556, Muncie, IN  47307.
