Roe L. Borchers, age 85, passed on to be with his Lord and Savior on May 16, 2023 at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford. He was born on January 10, 1938 in Egan, IL the son of Elmer and Viola (Falconer) Borchers. He graduated from Stillman Valley High School Class of 1955. He married the love of his life Beverly Baker on August 16, 1958. Roe farmed in the local area for many years. His faith was important to him and he attended First Free Church in Rockford. Roe could often be found out mowing and making sure he had a nicely manicured lawn. He loved going to Starbucks for coffee and going on long visits at his Florida home. The most important thing in his life was his family. He was a loving and caring husband and parent. He adored being a grandfather and never missed one of his grandchildren’s events. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Viola, in-laws, George and Mary Baker, and brother, Fred (Gerri) Borchers. He is survived and missed by his wife, Beverly of Monroe Center, daughters, Lori (Al) Erickson of Cherry Valley, Becky Borchers of Monroe Center, and Nancy (Wayne) Alderks of Monroe Center, grandchildren, Adam (Janna) Erickson, Amy (Billy) Lewis, Ashley (Chad) Hoover, Bryce (Amy) Alderks, Kelsey Alderks, and Cassie Alderks; and great grandchildren, Landon, Josslynn, Brayden, Owen, Camden, Jade, Aubrey, Tatum, Avery, and Dylan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2023 at Monroe Center Community Church with Pastor Bob Mellon of the church officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will be at Monroe Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family.
