Shirley J. Hall

Shirley J. Hall, age 89, went to be with her heavenly father on September 9, 2023. She was born on November 7, 1933 in Rockford the daughter of David and Meva (Rowe) Royster. She grew up in the Monroe Center area and graduated from Monroe Center High School. Shirley married the love of her life, Wayne Hall on July 22, 1951. She worked as a phone inspector for GTE in Genoa until her retirement. Shirley was a woman of faith and was a member of Christ the Rock Lutheran Church in Rockford. In her spare time; she enjoyed shopping and playing cards with her friends. Shirley was an avid reader and loved to travel. She also enjoyed crocheting and going to her church quilting group. But, the most important thing to her was her family. She loved being an involved mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings. She is survived and missed by her children, Connie (Robert) Humes of Littleton, CO, Debra (Kevin) Vehrs of St. James, MO, Jeff (Mary) Hall of Winslow, IL, Brian (Donna) Hall of Gaffney, SC, and Gayle (Ken) Lee of Mt. Vernon, WA; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Farrell Holland Gale Funeral Home in Stillman Valley. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will be at Monroe Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are established for Serenity Hospice and Home.
