Susan B. Ferguson

Susan B. Ferguson, lifelong Oregon/Mt. Morris resident, died Monday June 14, 2021 in Generations at Neighbors, Byron. Born May 11, 1947 in Oregon, the daughter of George C. and Margie (Nichols) Bowers. Married to Denny Ferguson July 18, 1965 in Oregon; he died January 18, 2013. Susan was a 1965 graduate of Oregon High School. She was employed several years at Sterling Federal Bank in Mt. Morris, retiring in 2009. Prior to that she worked many years at Dawson Subscription Service, formerly McGregor Magazine, in Mt. Morris. Susan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and volunteered at Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Mt. Morris. She was a former member of Mt. Morris Moose Lodge. Survived by her son, Chad (Cathy Jo) Ferguson of Davis; daughter, Cathy Ferguson-Allen of Dixon; and grandchildren: Addison Ferguson, Brynlee Ferguson, Brailey Tarbert, Kaiya Tarbert and Blake Ferguson-Allen. Also predeceased by her parents; daughter-in-law, Ronelle Allen; 1 brother; and 3 sisters. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 17 in Farrell-Holland-Gale Funeral Home, Oregon preceded by a visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Pastor Rachel Cocar of First Baptist Church, Dixon, will officiate. Burial in Daysville Cemetery, rural Oregon, followed by a funeral luncheon at the Mt. Morris Moose Lodge.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Susan’s name may be made to Mt. Morris Senior Center or Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, Mt. Morris.
